Rocking Your Biz on Facebook

First we’re going to focus on your PROFILE.

Chances are, you already have one of these. It is the main way that people connect on Facebook (notice I didn’t say the main way DIRECT SELLERS connect!)

You should have a profile picture that is… YOU! Let me be completely honest with you, it drives me FREAKING CRAZY when someone has a profile that isn’t of them!

I get it… your kids are cute, you love your dog, and your last vacation was amazing. But you don’t need to have those as your profile picture!

You want people to run into you at Walmart and immediately know that it’s YOU from your beautiful profile picture!

On Facebook, you can create a short BIO.  Use this to describe YOU! What you love, what you do for fun and casually mention your business!

You also want to make sure that in your ABOUT ME section you have your company listed and your company website listed.

You are losing customers if you do not have your company listed under your work section of your About Me!

Now that your profile is rocking… let’s talk about your GROUP!

We have found you get the BEST results and relationship connections with your clients from your Facebook Group.  They are your small community!

You’ll notice the other women getting to know each other, relating to each other, and helping each other. It’s BEAUTIFUL!

Your Facebook Group should be set to Closed. This ensures that only those in your Facebook Group can see your posts and prevents you from spamming everyone who is NOT in your group!

You don’t want to accidentally change it to a Secret group - if you do that you won’t be able to link to your group from your profile and it makes it harder for your friends, customers, and hostesses to find your group and request to join.

So, in your Facebook group you need to LOOK the part! Your group should be fun, yet professional! Like YOU!

Let’s start by setting up your DESCRIPTION!

Your about me section is like your mini bio + sales pitch.

You HAVE to make it count to get them excited about staying and interacting.

This should tell them a little about you, the company, what benefits they’ll get by being in the group and where to check out the products.

Keep it short & sweet, make sure it’s catchy, and avoid PUKING.

I also recommend you create an awesome photo that you pin to the top that tells them what to do: WELCOME, introduce yourself to the group & jump into the conversation.

What about your COVER PHOTO!?!

You do NOT want a ghetto cover photo!

And you do NOT want a cover photo that all of the other consultants in your company are using. You want a cover photo that will let your customers know immediately when they are in YOUR GROUP!

And you do NOT want to change your cover photo every month just to spotlight the monthly special!

If you already have a cover photo, look it over and ask yourself “is this how I want my customers to see me?” If the answer is NO then create a new one or find a designer to help!

So… what should you post in your group?

FUN
Post pictures of yourself doing something fun. You can also ask your customers to post a picture or video on your page wall. This is a great opportunity for them to share their idea of fun.

FUNNY
You want to make your fans LAUGH! You can do this by posting funny pictures or videos of yourself or from YouTube. If you make your customers laugh they will want to hang out with you and do business with you.

EXCITING
A boring person has to work 10 times harder to sustain their business than an exciting person. How can you be exciting? You could share some exciting news, do a giveaway or share an exciting freebie. You can also use words like YAY, OMG, and Holla so your customers FEEL your excitement.

ENTERTAINING
Everyone needs to be able to detach from life once in awhile and be entertained. Can you do this for your customers? Do you have a signature move that you do? You can have pictures taken of you doing it in different locations.

EDUCATIONAL
No matter if your customers ever purchase from you or not, teach them something they can apply to their life right away. You need to give them more value than what you are giving to earn those sales.

Are you FUN?

As a direct seller you know you have to step up and in order to maintain your business and there’s nobody telling you what to do and when to do it. It’s all on YOU.

Do you know why it’s sooo important to step up and maintain your business?

This will keep you from having to restart your business over and over…

If you make excuses, you’ll start your business over again and again because WHAT YOU DO TODAY AFFECTS YOUR BUSINESS 90 DAYS FROM NOW.

So, how can we step up our business to take it to the next level and help maintain it?

It’s simple...

You need to…

HAVE MORE FUN!

It’s really important to do things that are FUN at ALL your parties year round, whether it’s the summer months or the busier holiday season. The parties at a local park or when you’re stuck inside because there is 3 feet of snow outside...

Some months will book quicker than others, but if your guests aren’t having fun, they aren’t going book… AT ALL!

One way to add some fun to your parties is with THEME PARTIES.

Now, if you already bring the FUN like I do, you may not need to do theme parties… so this is for those of you who feel like you need to add fun to your parties.

You want to keep your themes SIMPLE so that your host isn’t overwhelmed. The sky really is the limit when it comes to theme parties!

Some popular themes are:
· Muffins & Mimosas
· Fashion & Fondue
· Flip Flops & (whatever you sell)
· Margarita Monday
· Taco Tuesday
· Wine Down Wednesday
· Throwback Thursday/70’s or 80’s party
· Sports Themed Tailgating Bash
· Ice Cream Social

And then of course you have your seasonal themes, such as:
· Shop for Your Sweetheart Party
· Picnic Party
· Costume/Halloween themed party
· Ugly Sweater Party
· Secret Santa Party
· Cookie Exchange Party
· Toy Drive Party

So, once you and your host decide on a theme, it’s time to get the FUN going!

You want to start with a FUN invite, followed by a FUN Facebook event, and then of course, the FUN party is the cherry on top.

Let me show you how you can do this if you were hosting an Ice Cream Social Party...

Your host would provide the ice cream and ask her guests to bring different toppings - she could ask them to bring their favorite childhood topping or their guilty little pleasure that they never let themselves have in front of the kids.

You would create a fun ice cream themed invitation for your host and make sure you include the special instructions of what they should bring.

In your Facebook event, you want to strike up conversations that get them talking...so why not ask their favorite ice cream flavor or topping.

You should also create a cute reminder that your host can send out to her friends letting them know how excited she is to see them at the party and enjoy ice cream sundaes together!

At the party you want to make sure that you set up the ice cream social party in a time when it’s NOT going to distract from your presentation.

Since you’ll be passing items around and you want them writing down on their wish lists you will want to wait for the ice cream until it’s time to shop.

BUUUT...as each guest arrives they can share their toppings and why they brought that topping with them.  Use it as an ice breaker before the party to get them to relax and open up

Remember, when your guests are having FUN, they will not only spend more money, but will also be more likely to book a party so THEIR FRIENDS can have fun too!

How Badly Do You Want It?

I’m sure you’re wondering what CARROTS have to do with your business…

I mean, after all you aren’t a farmer, or are you?

But seriously, think about it.  When you want to lead a horse somewhere, what do you use?

CARROTS!

So when you want to turn a “potential” host into an actual host, what are you going to dangle?

CARROTS!

Now, in this case we aren’t talking about the carrots that you eat...but you want to dangle something that is going to get them to BITE!

So, since you need classes on your calendar for a THRIVING business….

You need your calendar to be FULL…

Well, you NEED to remember that when you are dating on Facebook you need to make the offer look HUGE or no one will take you up on it, especially if they know someone else that offers the same product as you.

I’m sure this is a scary area for you because most direct sellers instantly go into lack mentality and start thinking about what you don’t have so you are scared to offer things that look like a ton and cost you a little money.

I’m sure you’re wondering WHY you need to offer more when your company already has an amazing hostess rewards program…

Remember, you want to ensure that YOU STAND OUT from every other person selling what you sell.

You want to post one of these carrots:

Who wants $100 in FREE products?  Comment below

I have $1,000 to give away to 10 lucky hostesses this month, who wants in?

I am giving the first person who books a HUGE BONUS of $1,000 added to their party sales” (you only want to apply it to the 10% of the subtotal party sales level)

Yes, these offers sound like a lot but that’s GOOD! You want them to so that they will catch your clients’ attention and make them take action.

You also want to put a15 girls in attendance minimum on carrots where they get $100 in FREE products to ensure that you cover yourself

Now that you’ve made your post, STEP AWAY for 10-15 minutes.

When you come back to a comment or two (or three or four), it’s time to follow up!

You’re going to send a private message to those that commented that says “I am so excited to rock out a party with you, what date works better {January 15th} or {January 8th}?”

Did you see what I did there?

I gave them TWO CHOICES, and I put the earlier chose LAST for a reason.

The mind always jumps to the second option assuming that it’s the later option, which will help you book closer in!

Once they respond to you with a date, you want to send a message letting them know that you have them down for January 8th at 7pm and that when they have 15 guests in attendance they will get their $100 in bonus products - you let them know the minimum once they are on your calendar.

You should be posting your Deal Or No Deal or Carrot every other week.

So today you posted a carrot, so that means in two weeks you should play Deal Or No Deal and then two weeks later you should post a carrot.

Using both each month will help you keep your calendar full of bookings and your business THRIVING.

Are you ready to dangle your BIG carrot? GOOD!
